I`ve watched the first pilot and will watch the second with my friends when they have the time. I hope this doesn`t get cancelled like a lot of other American shows.

Its HBO show so you are guaranteed at least a full season.

YES!

This is the best new fantasy series to hit the television world since...ever I think. I have watched many fantasy setting shows only to be disappointed with crappy story, crappy special effects, over use of nudity/language/violence to try and lure the fans of the genre in but this show grabs you by the fantasy loving balls and never lets go.

Another good show is Camelot, but even parts of it drag in places (still very watchable though). This blows it out of the water.

I love HBO.

Came across the books a few years ago..absolutely unreal, blew everything else out of the picture. I've never read a fantasy book before, or anything with magic in it. They were so good I've been visiting the authors blog on a regular basis and followed with severe interest the beginnings of HBO's interest in the books and the announcing of a TV series..the casting procedure and so much other stuff.

Not seen the tv show yet though.

I've watched all 5 episodes but I gotta say I don't like any of the characters. The most likeable is the Stark guy, but there's so much focus on wh*res, weird "gayish elve" characters, incest, drunk king who sleeps around, an 8 year old who still drinks breast milk of his weird mother that I couldn't care less what happens to that kingdom.. it seems like a perfect depiction of Sodom and Gemorra to me.. The funny thing is that the show called "Camelot" has equally unlikeable characters.. is this a new trend tv shows are gonna take.. Be as rough as possible and make all women seem like a bunch of wh*res?

I do have to say that the show is well made and that the action sequences deliver.. having said that I was hoping for more action.

They filmed for quite a few weeks 10 km away from my house, my brother and a lot of friends were extras.

Another friend had uploaded some photos on Facebook last summer but received a cease and desist.

There was a whole debacle here because they damaged a whole natural site during filming.

I watched the first few episodes and I'm liking it, they also already picked it up for a second season.

Loving it so far, things are clearly getting close to kicking off now too. It's about time Ned started kicking some damn annoying Lannister ass.

The Kings also a fool, and deserves a slap.

Follows the feel of the books perfectly, maybe, but there are a ton of differences. Ned stark, in the book his horse falls on him, breaks leg... in show, stabbed after sword fight that never happened between him and Lannister. Drogo didn't rape Dany in the book on their wedding day, in show he did. It goes on and on, nothing major, but plenty different.

Currently I am slowly working my way through the book along with the TV series and they are alike in most aspects. Though I feel that the TV show is a bit darker / more violent in some respects.

Still enjoying both though. This is the first TV series I have enjoyed and actively watch in a long time. In fact the only ever show I have ever watched that has gripped my attention like this was the remake of BSG.

Very true. I will change my opinion to: casting 10/10. Still a great great show. The Eyrie castle for House Tully was amazing.

My favorite show on TV by far. Sean Bean is such an incredible actor. So much thought and feeling is seen in his eyes. My god I love HBO.

Agreed!! I had this show on series link to record and just started watching it the other night. Blitzed through 4 episodes back-to-back.

Loving it. Favourite character so far has to be 'the Imp' - great stuff.

The last episode was epic! I was already hooked but now i'm Acarney on this show!

Spoiler?....
The ending, where the dude poured melted gold on the dude's head (sorry I'm no good with character names) made me jizz in my pants a little. And then his sister says "He was no dragon. Dragon's can't be killed by fire." Really awesome! Makes you wonder who he really was.... Unless you've read the books, which clearly I have not.
Spoiler

This really is an amazing show and Bean is, as said above, a GREAT actor

Just adding my two cents, really loving this show. The first episode was a little strange, I suppose I needed to get used to the characters, the lore and the pacing before the show clicks, but right now I LOVE IT!
