I'm sure that's common in the UK, but most of New York City water comes from pristine reservoirs in the Catskills.
So, you think the runoff into the rivers that feed it doesn't have animal waste in it, even some dead animals?
What about the fish, think they get out to have a piss or crap?
Then there are the towns on the rivers that feed the reservoir, do you think they don't dump (treated I hope) waste into the water, then there are the industries, etc.

Back to Britain, some years back, they figured that water entering the Thames catchment was recycled 7 times before reaching the sea - may be more now. However, the water at the taps is supposedly purer than any of the 'natural' water supplies.

Regarding well water, may be a good idea to have it regularly checked, there are a lot of natural toxins that can be found in ground water, let alone leachates from illegal dumps, etc.

If any of you guys are worried, you could buy 20l distilled/de-ionised from battery dealers for a fraction of the "bottled water" that shops charge or, at least, fit a filter to the drinking tap.

Just like my employer, I rarely express excellent job to a great something, but today right after stumbling directly into the doorsteps of the web site, I can say you did an awesome job! And I ain’t your boss.

No lol. We had a running joke years ago that it was Tidy Sammy's dad, a pro lawnmower racer. I wish I could find the original pic that the sig was made from, it's disturbing/funny...

Water in the UK comes from reservoirs, lakes and under ground. It's essentially rain water.

Treated so much you get a chloride after taste. Tap water in a Britta filter FTW. Just this side of the country the water is very hard so tastes like crap without a filter anyway.

Here tap water has a great quality and countless tests have shown that its second to none when it comes to minerals n stuff. Even the better "table water" sold in bottles isnt so far ahead of the water that comes out of the tap.

I drink it very often and to be honest, here in Germany buying bottled water is a waste of money.

I'm surprised Coca-Cola haven't bottled it and sold it to the public [oops]

They do and call it Apolinaris. [rofl]

Same ****, different country (I guess you were referring to what happened in Britain a couple of years ago)

Dasani ?

Anyway, since Malta is an island and water is scarce, tap water is purified or desalinated water and not usually recommended for drinking. Still won't kill you or make you sick in any way but it doesn't taste very good.

At home my parents have a water filter system which goes to small tap next to the kitchen faucet and another to the fridge for chilled water.

It's just purified tap water and tastes like regular bottled water.

Over here I buy bottled water, local brand with water from an underground water table.

I thought you weren't supposed to drink distilled water though? But then again, after doing a little reading up on it, it seems many of the reasons given are the same reasons people give that reverse osmosis (RO) filtered water is bad for you, because the water is so pure it actually leeches electrolytes & other minerals from your body, which I've read is BS.

I don't really care where my water comes from as long as its made of water. I mean, all water at some point in earth's history has been in contact with some nasty ****, whats the difference if it goes through natural processes or man-made processes to clean it?
