BT have Infinity done in the exchange just past mine but hopefully I can get it in 6 months. 40 or 50 mbit down, 20 up. That upspeed is mouthwatering

It's the middle of the day so we're getting hammered, but our upload is pretty nice as well:

Spuddy, is 10Mbit/sec upload even enough to send control packets for the 100Mbit/sec downstream

Anyway, I'm at work, so just tested our line here. The testservers don't seem to have enough upstream to feed our line.
It should be a 70/70 connection.

Another server..

More likely that your line is being used by other employees...it's not just yours you know [rofl]

Almost a winning response, except I've seen it provide tests well over 100mb. Of course, now you're going to hit me with the different servers will have different capacity argument and I don't have anywhere to go after that.

Does your Virgin Media have a bandwidth cap?

Posting from work is always unfair!

If your trying different servers and getting similar speeds when they should be doubled, seems more like it is your provider and/or your modem/router.

Here is my pingtest. Its as if Atlanta is apart of my home network. [yes]

dangermoose: Hehe you're right about that. There's just not many danish interconnects that can service such high bandwidth to one single host. We have the same connection to our datacenter just a few blocks away (same ISP and bandwidth) from our office. And that gives me full 70/70, so I know it's there.

Anyway, here's my home connection, which is supposed to be a 30/3 cable.

lol.

^ And that's concerned pretty awesome for my country...
It's also being loled at when seeing the distance from the servers you're testing to all of you guys here... when looking at the size of my country, servers everywhere here are almost as far as the apartment next to mine.

Lucky us there's a new huge underwater communication line that's being built for the next year, and after that speeds should start rising and costs will probably get lower. pffft.

Nice!

We're still stuck on ADSL 1 (8Mbit) in this developing new estate... if you're not lucky enough to get an ADSL1 port then you have to use wireless 3G. [thumbdown]
