Default 90s song? Need ID.
I have very little to go on otherwise I'd Google.

I remember the music video vaguely...

Pretty sure you saw the sky...with possibly a rail track or something. And possibly also at one point the a bottle of softener. I dunno.

It's really vague to go on. Anyone have any even remotely vague guesses? Hell it might even be an 80s track.

You're not even 100% sure the sky is in it? Is it Don't Stop by No Authority?

do you remember what kind of music it was. from your description that could be lots of different songs. black hole sun by soundgarden and no rain by blind melon come to mind right off.

What is softener?

Hair softener? Stool softener?

This post is spotty at best.

Wicked game by Chris Isaac sprang to mind straight away when you said about the sky, not sure on the softener though

What sort of genre? It could even be 'Stand by Me', as I think there was a railway track in one of its videos.

this is really weird, but based on your description, I know exactly what song you're talking about:

that's it right?

you have to look really closely. look deep into Rick James' eyes and you will see it.

Pretty much, and I know that. I've been through various top charts for music videos, and couldn't find it. The google fu has failed.

And yeah, it's vague the things I remember from it. It just came up during a conversation, during new years eve while we were listening to old tracks, and it bothered me intensely that I couldn't find it, not because it was a good track, mostly because I couldn't google my way to it.

It's more upbeat and dancey, than any of the tracks mentioned so far for what it is worth.

Half the 90's songs are upbeat and dancey.

Go back to your friends ask what that old song you were listening to or copy the tape.

Do you even remember the lyrics?
