Default Bad auto crash: Hitting Turbo Boost at the wrong time!
http://www.wdtn.com/dpp/news/video:-...caught-on-tape

Just caught this link.

A teenager driving WAY too fast in way too much traffic launched himself at a bridge nearly 20ft up at least 100mph or so.

Thirdgen's were decent cars for their time in crash safety ratings. But I don't think any manufacturer makes a car today that can withstand this kind of crash.

The impact with the bridge support ripped the car into 3 pieces and ejected the driver.

He is alive and damned lucky to be so.

Considering that he's likely going to be a quad after this kind of trauma, I am not sure he will share the same sentiment.

That video was impressive.

But I can't say the guy didn't deserve it to some degree. It's all too common seeing people driving like idiots.

If not for the rebar in that pillar I'd be shocked if he didn't take it out completely. A 3,300lb car travelling 100mph+ is ALOT of force on any object. Anyone crossing that bridge when the accident happened would have had a serious wake-up call if they missed him catching air.

Actually, the driver is kind of lucky that he DID hit the barrier and go airborn. If he had missed it and gone into oncoming traffic he could have killed so many drivers on the opposite side of the road.

Experience could help, however that kind of traffic is NOT the place to be playing like that.

Perhaps he should have been doing 110mph...

He's damned lucky it clipped that divider and it turned the driver's part of the car away from the impacted area - other drivers in the oncoming lane are also damned lucky the bridge was there, or there'd have been a number of seriously injured or killed people there!

looks like the impact was rear 3/4 or even rear lights area - if he hadnt turned in the air he would be dead - and is it me or did he land and slide across the carraige way and a car near miss? seeing a body shaped object bounce after the car comes apart going left to right on the video.

looks like a problem after V1 shouldn`t have tried to abort
