Anyone used both services?
I haven't used either. I have an HTPC and a blu ray player. I see that netflix charges extra for BR rentals. I wouldn't ever rent games or use the return-in-store feature that Blockbuster provides. I would probably stream some movies since I have an HTPC. Which service would be better? |

Netflix hands down. Been very happy with the service. And streaming from them is becoming increasingly popular. I've recently started trying out their "friends" functions and have been quite pleased. I can look at my friends Queue's and leave notes for them on videos that they will see the next time they bring up their netflix page.
I tried out the blockbuster service and they didn't have a bunch of DVD's I was looking for. The interface they use (at least at the time) was buggy as all hell. An example, If you delete something from your queue and hit the back button on your web browser, it put the item back into your queue. |

netflix turn around time was 1 less day. netflix movie selection is way better netflix has online streaming of movies netflix queue actually works and sends you the movies in the correct order the only good thing i can say about blockbuster, was that i was able to cancel it :-) |

Another vote for Netflix. $11/m for unlimited streaming and 1 BD at a time is a steal.
Also, if your HTPC has Vista or Win7, you can use the media center plugin to browse netflix and stream movies through the Media center interface. I love being able to sit back on my couch using my IR remote to rather than needing to break out the kb and mouse. |

Netflix is better in just about every way you can think of.
Cheaper prices Free streaming Larger backstock(which = less wait for new titles and more titles in stock) Faster shipping/receiving Better interface Netflix, as a company, is on the up-and-up Blockbuster, as a company, is going down down down. |
