Today I a DVD arrived from Netflix to my house. I was ready to return another DVD that I finished watched but I accidently mailed back the DVD in it's unopened envelope that I didn't get watch that was sent to me today instead of the one I already watched. Will the DVD that I sent in the unopened envelope be mailed back to me or will it be sent back to Netflix or will it be held at the post office?

My guess is it'll get mailed back to you. But, I'm not sure. Let us know what happens.

Wait a day or so and check to see what netflix does. Sometimes they will just send it right back out, but if they don't, you can mark the disc as being "undelivered" and they will send it out again.

Also, if you didn't open it, then it probably has your address still on it and might just come back to you after it's loop through the postal system.

Depending on how far it's got to go it'll probably get back to the nearest Netflix depot. They'll do there best to get it there, I've had the paper from the front of disk delivered before. I thought you'd meant you'd done what I did once, mailed one of my own DVDs back to Netflix. I've never seen it since but I have a plan one day to put a copy of the missing DVD on my queue one day and swap it out for the one I still have.

If the mail to address is your address.. high chance it will be sent back to you.

If it is netflix address, you might want to call or e-mail them.

They will send it back. I would just contact them by email and let them know.

If Netflix gets the DVD back, all he has to do is select "Report a problem" under his Netflix Queue beside the movie in question. There is an option that let's him report the movie as "Undelivered". Netflix will resend the movie without holding up the next movies scheduled to be sent out.

There is no need to call or email netflix about this.

should have made a note and thrown it in the box after it- "excuse me postal person... i put in the wrong netflix, since it still has my address on it, will you just tuck it back in my box? cheers!"

Since he didn't open it, it will still have his address as the mail-to address. And while I've never done it before, I imagine if you drop any letter off at the post office that was just delivered to your place, it would be back in your mailbox the next day.
