Web Host Prob x__x
so after about 4 years I ditched GoDaddy.com as my webhost due to problems popping up left and right.
I switched to HostGator and now my main domain name is stored within the home directory whereas with godaddy it had it's own folder (home_dir/my_sites_folder/). Now it kinda dumb because all of my other domains are accessible by going mysite.com/myothersite.com and I just want the main domain to have it's own folder like it used to have. Is this common, or is there some universal way people do this that I don't know of? I have already talked to 3 of their tech reps. Thanks ; ) If I sucked at explaining this, let me know, lol. |
If I understand correctly you just need to change your apache config file to point to the directory you want to use for your home directory.
Or you could just put a page in the root of your site that redirects to the sub-directory and copy all the content there. Beware of absolute URL's though. |
