hasbro and google have teamed up to allow a world online monopoly game using google maps... might be fun, though the page takes a bit to load... i am so buying all of the city i live in http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue1.gif

We ANTICIPATED an opening rush when we launched the Monopoly City Streets online game, but the first few hours have surpassed even our greatest EXPECTATIONS.

We are in the process of increasing our firepower and expect to be running more smoothly within the next several hours.

Thanks for your patience as we work as fast as we can to resolve this and get everyone playing and trading on Monopoly City Streets .

yeah, i have gotten the map up and such (though it took a while) and i can go around and find streets etc, but can't buy them yet / fail


you would think with googles help, they might have the server power to handle it.

I was actually looking forward to seeing how they were going to work things. Went to the site on Wednesday and the site was down, went yesterday and the site would load, very slowly then give the message that FAKE posted. :(

well, you aren't missing much. I am effing with it right now... it would be ok if it didn't take 5 minutes to load each thing.... it is look for a stree, wait 2 min, click the street you want, wait, then colors start to appear for the streets (purple =avail)(red= you own) (blue = Someone else owns), then a list pops up with all the avail streets in the are, choose your street, wait, buy street, wait, put building on street, wait

rinse and repeat

take all those waits outta there and it might be ok, but it sucks donkey balls right now.

Perhaps they mortgaged their data centre.. :P

It's free and will get better. If you expect WoW levels of speed, offer them £11 per month to use it.

As a concept it's really impressive and all that's hampering it is an underestimation of how popular it would be.

Not complaining that it's slow (actually it loaded pretty fast for me) I'm complaining that it's not available here which kinda s*cks[thumbdown].

Besides, Steam is free and probably holds more clients then WoW does so no excuse.

Fair enough, I'm going to give it a couple of days before moaning about it.

i just found out that it works fine, but just doesnt work in firefox.. in IE it loads up to 100% instantly while in FF it hangs
