work is letting me get a $700 laptop

i'm a fan of my current 2 year old 17 inch display hp laptop but would be willing to get any system if it was a good deal

I would go for the second choice if I were you if you are looking for general speed and better video gfx however, the bottom one does have better storage (+50GB) which it "trades" in for speed of ram.
