How to clean this LCD TV (plastic parts, not screen)
How can I clean this? It appears that my TV has a fine layer of oily-ness over it (my roommate cooks everything he eats on an open fry pan with cooking oil and it gets everywhere, creating a film across everything in our place). I'm trying to clean the plastic portion, which has a very shiny piano black finish on it. I'm assuming its a bad idea to use 409 or something like that on plastic.

microfiber cloth without anything else

As long as you don't get it on the screen your probably ok using some pure alcohol, but make sure to test it on somewhere that's not too visible first.
Its generally Petroleum Distillates that destroys plastics so pure alchohol should be fine and will get rid of the oily-ness. I then suggest a cotton bed sheet or cover to throw over the TV when your not using it, keeps the dust off and any other crap that's in the air. |
