Er, back on topic. Christian Bale sucked as Batman in the last two movies. Is there any chance he'll be playing Bruce Wayne when his character finally gets killed? I was just so relieved that the camera didn't obsess over his leather-clad arse, neon lighting or guys in garish costumes spouting dreadful puns...really, I didn't notice the acting one way or another. But then I still haven't seen Dark Knight, maybe he was terrible in that. |

? Keaton did the growly voice too, though perhaps he didn't do it as much. Listen to him as Batman and then as Bruce Wayne, you'll notice the difference. I'm not sure if Kilmer or Clooney did it, but it's not like anything they did could have saved their movies from the raver chic.
I thought it was something Batman is supposed to do; during the Knightfall arc--which I realize is a decade old or so--Robin actually criticizes Azrael for not putting the edge in his voice the way Bruce did. The Animated Series (the generally acclaimed nineties cartoon) had him doing it too. |
