Default Recommend a nice modern desk?
I would like to get a new desk. Mine is too high for comfort. So I'm hoping some of you guys can recommend an inexpensive nice modern desk (which is probably hard to come by, all the ones I'm finding on google are like $1,000 +)...

Any recommendations? Want to get one before my new mac pro setup arrives. Thanks [thumbup]

Well, you can go to pier one and look around....I have never had a straight "desk" it has always been something else. 1920's teachers study desk, glass top with black metal v-stands, etc etc...now im in an luxury apartment complex with computer "niches" its really cool. Go look at contempo furniture places, but stay out of furniture places.

Hmm someone over aim suggested www.ikea.com

Not bad - I like their style and they have reasonable prices.

I typically find if you want something cheap and effective, Ikea usually has something to fit the bill.

Wow what the hell. Last night when I was looking on Ikea.com I found a desk I wanted. The Galant. I check it today - and they're gone! Where'd it go? Damn that sucks.

Those are just the table tops. This was like 3-5 pages of all the galant desks, and the legs were different.

Does it really matter how old it is?

That's a pretty cool desk Green - certainly doesn't fit the FPS gamer though. =P

I myself am looking for a desk, but I was something aluminum and glass. I can't find anything too cheap though.

Not for FPS gaming? I don't know, I was thinking it might be nice to have the mouse on the right, kinda further back and the keyboard in the same position (center). You would have a arm/handrest and everything for your mousing hand. Course, gauging from the picture, you would need a skinny chair and beer belly to fit between the 2 side wings.

Good luck on the inexpensive glass/aluminum desk. Everything is going to be pricey: I would suggest going with a industrial/studio look and refitting something similar to go with the look you want.

Well yeah, when the OP has most probably already bought a desk by now.

Well beyond materials and price, that desk is ugly and hardly functional. I'll take 5

Actually I haven't! LOL. This desk does look cool though. Are there any pictures besides the ones on the site...To bad it's mainly for gaming though. I hardly game anymore except for the occasional WoW...mainly working (graphic designer).
