Need new mobile in next few months
My 18month contract with O2 is almost up in a few months and was looking for a new phone to replace my aging D900. Want to stick with O2 but wanting to move to a 12month contract if possible. Has to be a good solid phone, thin, great music player, great camera (Samsung have always had absolutely terrible cameras) and if possible, full html internet. I was looking at the Iphone but couldn't justify the cost due to lack of any 3g, mms and crappy camera.
Anyone have any ideas? I've been looking at the Viewty and the F800, anyone know what the camera is like on the F800, it's Samsung so want to know before hand before going with another Samsung phone. |
Do not go for the Viewty, absolutely dire when it comes to usability just as bad as the Prada but with updated features. we've had no end of trouble with this handset. The F800 isnt too bad, but I havent had a chance to play with it as much.

K850 is a nice phone, i just got it and except for the bad firmware it has ATM (new firmware expected soon) it's a good phone IMO.
Camera's great (though not much of an improvement over the k800), mp3 player is good, it has 3G, mms..etc. It just isnt super thin;) |

I have the SE P1i on O2 and it is the best phone I have ever used. Take a look at it online and see if you can play with one in store.

IIRC, only china or japan needed 850mhz. |
/me is pleased my 8GB N95, which is streaming inet radio at the moment, using the client app DsK blogged about. If I wouldn't have this one, I'd probably get a N76 - very slick. Same services available for that. Some say it's so small that it's girly http://discussworldissues.com/forums...s/biggrin1.gif

edit: Thailand requirements for a phone is 900 and 1800 Mhz, so any Tri Band or Quad Band phone should work there, i think. |

Battery drains pretty quickly though, but it lasts about 40 hours for me on a battery (and I use it alot) |
At least wait until MacWorld in a few weeks, the may announce a second gen iPhone. It'll probably drop in May/June, though I'm not sure if it'll be global or just US release with global lagging behind. Third party apps will show up in about two months, MMS should show up since proof of concepts work now with hacks. Everyone expects 3G and larger storage.
