Like there is any way a sane person would choose anything but FTL travel?

And yes, anyone who wants weapons is probably not sane enough to be trusted with them. What would a sane person do with them? You can't pull a one-man The Day The Earth Stood Still gig, even with 100 photon torpedos. Phasor? What, you wanna rob a bank or something?

Transporter without a ship to go somewhere interesting? No thanks, the dividends are too limited. Again, some sociopath might want one to do unscrupulous things. If the technology could be understood and copied, this world would quickly become a terroristic nightmare, even moreso than with phasers as they are at least limited to line-of-sight.

If we assume the technology is too advanced to be reverse engineered then we're stuck with a one-off item. Can't share it widely, and some government or criminal organization will probably whack you to obtain it for themselves. At least with a warp ship you can take it with you and leave the a*holes behind.

The replicator because even it can't make future items it can certainly make current time period items of a certain size. Replicated gold, jewelry, and expensive items should set me up just fine.

No, I don't.

edit: I might, however, get rich charging others to use it. Yeah, right. The NSA would take it away from me in about 10 seconds.

A transporter is useless unless you have another one. We didn't get ship sensors.

Tricorder or replicator, both have their advantages in terms of helping the human race. No more starvation, or no more serious sickness... I vote tricorder because of the immediate medical uses.

We know how to cure a lot more diseases than we can accurately diagnose at the moment, and an awful lot of medical time and money is wasted trying to diagnose things that could be better spent if it were always known what was the problem.

An important question of course is,
if you get a course in Tricorder output reading along with the Tricorder.

If I think about the Bridge on the original Enterprise, In doubt I would ever be able to get any meaningful data out of the instruments without having taken a course in reading these outputs.

If same goes for the output of an tricorder it might take years if not decades until the output is understood well enough to be helpful for diagnosis

Hmmm, holodeck? Replicator?

A really sweet computer would be nice, but does it include a library of (our) games and emulators? If it's not backwards compatible with our hardware, then what? Does it have a library of ST era stuff (and everything between now and then)? Perhaps stock market records?

For those that chose a warp-capable vessel - where are you gonna park it? Not in orbit, because how would you get there? So we're talking someting along the lines of a shuttle, right? Hope you have a big garage - or live in the boonies. Neither applies to me.

Maybe it has a shuttle for transfer, i.e. a shuttle can bring you to the ship, which on the other hand is parkedd in orbit (or better, on the other side of the moon, there where the sun does not shine ).

Which brings up another question:
I hope the warp capable ships has toilet and bathrooms.
I cannot remember any time where I have seen a crewmember of the Enterprise going to a bathroom or even going to toilet.
ANd I wonder what they do if they have to go to toilet in one of these Long Range shuttles. They look too tiny for a toilet.

Edit:
Ah, I see already answered, although the question about toilets and bathroom remains

No need for bathroom or toilet in ST.
Replicators produce food 100% assimilable. No half-processed food at the lower end of the body.

That was indeed my first theory...
But it had the problem of: where do you make your ... errr,... deposit.
Or maybe ultra-precise transporters... able to... well, you get the idea...

Unfortunately for your theory, a good portion of the point of excrement is to remove byproducts of metabolism, which are inevitable due to our body chemistry. There are tons of things that are produced by our body naturally (regardless of what we intake) that need to be removed. If you didn't urinate or defecate you would die of kidney failure quite quickly even if you did have perfect food
