Once again, I am writing a quiz, and I need some input on a question. The idea behind the final round is that you have a theme per category, consisting of 3 questions: the first is an easy question, second is more difficult and the third is the most difficult to answer. Teams must choose which question they will answer.
Anyways, my theme for the sports category is the 'eternal runner-up', sports(wo)men who were very good but never won the biggest title in their category. These are the ones I have come up with: A. Raymond Poulidor (cyclist, never won the Tour de France) B. Jimmy White (snooker player, never won the WC) C. Patrick Ewing (basketball, never won the NBA Finals) However, I am kind of worried that Patrick Ewing is a bit too easy, as he is one of the players most associated with the New York Knicks. So can anyone else think of a (preferrable recent (1985 - present)) NBA player who was very good but never won the Finals? I'm also thinking Dikembe Mutombo, Dominique Wilkins or George Gervin. Gervin and Wilkins are probably too difficult, as NBA isn't as well-known here in Europe. So I'm looking for someone, easier than Gervin but more difficult than Ewing. Can someone help me out? |

Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller, John Stockton and Karl Malone come to mind... ![]() If I'm not mistaken, Barkley and Miller only made it to the Finals once in their career, so they should be less famous. |

I would say Miller is harder to guess/know than Barkley.... ![]() So the answers to the theme are: A (easy): Raymond Poulidor B (challenging): Jimmy White C (difficult): Reggie Miller |
