If the question had said DESCRIBE the graph then it would be funny, but since it said EXPLAIN it was totally lame (lol at getting this difference drilled into me at school, because you know, that's always a real problem in life).

As an ex-teacher for 10 years, I can vouch for the accuracy of many of those examples - some of the answers I've seen over the years have beggared belief but my all time favourite was from a none-too-sharp lad who tackled the following GCSE Biology question thus:

Q: What part of the human reproduction system produces sperm?

His answer? "Bollocks".

We only found out because the exam marker took a copy of it and sent it to us - fortunately for Nobby (for t'was his nickname), although he answered a scientific question with a colloquial term, the fact that the rest of the paper was near blank ensured that he gained at least some credit for it.
