Just visiting the availability checker at samknows (http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php) I noticed something new, "21CN". This is the switch over to newer line technology apparently.
The process of getting switched-on will move the BT's network technology to a system based on Internet Protocol technology, also known as IP. This technology is being used because: * It allows a much greater volume of information to travel through the network more quickly. The advantages to homes and businesses are: * A new generation of faster Internet services will be made possible. You’ll be able to get on with what you want to do without worrying about download speeds. * Services will be at least as reliable and secure as they are today. Seems good, but you are also given a date when this will happen, our line isn't going to be updated until the end of 2010 ![]() I'm sure some of you have a closer date than that. |
