Default Question about returning a good back to Sainsbury
My brother brought me a freeview box from Sainsbury a couple of days ago and now its broken (Not user error)

My question: He used his credit card to make the puchase along with other several items. Can I ask him to photocopy the receipt and send it to me via email and show it to Sainsbury asking for an exhange?

Or do I have to have the original (which will take longer to produce) and show it as a proof as purchase?

Most places don't usually accept photocopied receipts (makes fraud easier to commit).

You could just ask him for the date and time and they may be able to trace the sale on their system, might be worth phoning them to ask.

I bought my daughter an x-box bundle a couple of years ago,she got the wrong game in one of the case,s.this was in Game in Luton, she rang me as i got back to leicester,i sent her back to game in luton, and i went to the leicester branch with the reciept(paid by cc btw),and explained the situation. They rang the Luton branch to confirm the reciept details, and the correct game was supplied.
Not an exact replice of your situation, but worth a shot.

I'd say give it a go I'm often suprised how helpful these places are when you have a problem, esp. Sainsbury.
