Default Do you drive like a ****..
When people aint watching ?

I do sometimes lol theres this 3 mile dead straight road thats between elgin and lossiemouth, and theres hardly any traffic on it so erm well once I come off the bend I floor it and hit 120mph until you get to the end where it goes from a 60 to a 30 lol

theres no turn offs either so theres no danger of tboning a turning vehicle.

its great. I wouldnt do it if there was other cars on the road cos you can see all the way to the end of the road its that straight.

No. I lost too many friends in high school because they/someone else was driving stupid/showing off/in a hurry.

I won't even go above the speed limit on an straight, flat, empty stretch of road at 2am in perfect weather.

Driving is a very dangerous activity, and all due respect should be given to the machine, the road, the other users on the road, and the laws of the road.

yeah I dont do it with others in the vehicle and if theres one car on the road I wont do it this road is as straight as a die and you can see all the way down it one entry and one exit.

Well there's the M45 motorway not far from where I live. I decided to go over 100mph on the motorway as there was no other traffic around (and I mean none around). However, my car would probably go a bit faster than 100mph, but the revs get unbelieveably high at this speed that it's not really wise to go any further as redline was 1k rpm away.

In villages, traffic and main A roads, i'm always a sensible driver and always stick to the limit. If nobody is about (like late at night), then I may speed a little providing road conditions allow it, but I always drop back when there's somebody about.

Keep in mind the speed limit isn't just there to keep you from going too fast. When posting speed limits, they consider the number of driveway connections, crossroads, visibility, and also the 'grip' of the road.

Not all roads are made out of the some asphalt composite. You will find different road composition in Canada than you would in Hawaii. This affects the traction of the tires and is a major consideration when posting a speed limit.

I exceed the speed limit, but I drive safely. Sometimes its safer to speed than it is to disrupt the flow of traffic by following the speed limit. You'll get someone who insists on going 70 in a 60 and they'll pass you even if there's oncoming traffic. Better off to just go with the flow than to disrupt traffic just to follow the rules.

I do sometimes drive like a ****. If someone is in a hurry and they keep doing really stupid **** like not even stopping at red lights when they turn I'll drive the speed limit and ensure they don't pass me. Sure, its not the safest thing nor the nicest... but at least stop at the damned lights and stop signs and stop pulling out right in front of me when I have a freaking green light and yours is red. I can't stand people who want to drive like a total *******, so I make their day as unpleasant as possible.

I'm sure everyone thinks they are safe, until they kill themselves that is. But at least you do it at lowest risk to others.

Only in games, not in real life.

And that's good advice.

Nah, tbh, I drive probably 2-4mph over the speed limit. Once I hit that magical 5mph over the speed limit I let off the gas a little. If I do end up speeding I slow down right away No need to drive so fast all the time, you're not getting anywhere quicker (stop lights, etc.).

I have a WRX and another one came up speeding up behind me last night. Ended up going down this one road I live on that is 30mph, he was probably going 45 the whole way. Not cool [no]

I will say though, on the weekends I go on spirited drives on some backroads that I like to drive fast on

yeah sometimes if I have a need for speed I'll do it on the highway when I head off to my country home. There is a nice huge straight downhill run and you can see all cars on the road down the bottom for it for the next 3 km...

limit is 110km/h I'll hit 200.

Well can't go any faster cause my car is being limited by the computer!

I hate when people do that Its one thing to do 10-15 over on a highway in clear weather in the middle of the day, but it annoys the crap out of me when you're on a curvy road in a more populate area and they start zig zagging in and out of traffic and passing people.

I too take the backroads a bit.. ah.. fast. There's some places where I live where its a straight shot for miles with nothing to block your view of the road or the area around it. Perfectly place to take it a lil fast if you want as if you DO lose control you'll just end up in the middle of a field.

15-20% over the speed limit seems good enough to me.

I do sometimes.

Only when it's relatively safe to do so though.

I've never been over 100mph with me in the driving seat though (had 99 before though!).

Ah the M45 - I have been working in Coventry and Warwick for the past 20 years and before the A14 opened up the M45 was part of my journey. In all the time that I used it I saw one police car. Great road if you are in a hurry!!
