Default Powerball VS Dumbell Weights
I do about 80-100 reps on some basically small 8-10kg weights per day, but after doing a couple of minutes on a powerball, my arm feels like ive done about 100 reps. Is it possible that just from a couple of minutes on a powerball that it could do the same for my arms as these weights? Just seems really weird. I've just purchased a powerball today so i will give a try and see what the results are over the long run.

Yeah, if you're doing 100 reps, then you're wasting your time. Use more weight.

Yeah, think i need some mroe weights, just bought some basic dumbells and they are nothing. I'll try combining the powerball and weights for now.

No, i'm not wanting to gain mass. Just building up my arms only, the original question was, should i just do more on the powerball rather than weights as it seems to do the job?

Powerball is great for people who are lazy like me and wouldn't bother going to a gym, or invest in weights.

I got my powerball 2 weeks ago and already I feel my forearms are stronger(my bodybuild type is comparable to a weed stick tho[rofl]).

Read from some powerball forums that some people use only powerballs for upperbody strength excersise. It does look quite physical too on some video of over 15k rpm I have only managed to get 107xx rpm

And to add.. I know pretty much nothing about weight excersise.

gain mass=building up, less weight and more reps is for definition usually but it isnt that simple, if you want to build up your arms you need to do more weight at less reps, MAX 12 reps at a time.

And eat ALOT of protein and stuff.

Nothing beats a great set of dumbells and do a lot less reps and a lot more weight, doing 80 bicep curls with 8 - 10kg dumbells isn't going to do much of anything when it comes to size of your arms.

Umm...dumbells are for biceps/triceps and powerball is mainly for forearms. So I dont really see how you're comparing the two of them as one being more beneficial than the other since they each work out separate muscle groups.

I dont know how your even comparing powerball to lifting weights. Its only hurting your forearm becasue your not used to it yet. Give it a week or two and you will be used to the motion with virtually no muslce gain, in addition to this it is extremely limited while the dumbels are hugely versatile.

You can do forearm excercises with dumbells.

afaik forearms are nothing else than the strength in your hands (squize something in your hand you will see your forearms get thicker)
