Instead than think about the probablity of a goalie preserving a fee (that we think over-complicates things), wouldn't it be adequate to consider the goalie's available distance against the objective size in the two situations to obtain a sense of the benefit? If so then maybe it becomes a simple issue if I could remember some of my maths from those centuries before that also I could handle. Yes. By going 2 meters forward, he reduces the effective area of the target from 192 sqft to 133 sqft.
