Default HDTVs
I’m going to be in the market for new tv shortly and need some advice on what would be right for me?
Sharp, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, etc. all seem to have good sets in the high-end lines.

What I’m looking at is 50-52in., 24p true cinema (or whatever each brand calls it) and preferably very good to excellent SD playback.

Some of my info may be outdated, but I guess my reasons for trying to go with a lcd instead of a Plasma is due to the higher power usage and that the color advantage over lcd has diminished greatly.
Are there any places that test/report input lag for lcd tvs?
Any other input would be very helpful. Thanks.

Sony Bravia displays V-series and up have the Bravia Engine 2 which are great for handling standard definition content and they are also known for their very low input lag.

Go to http://www.avsforum.com/ for all the info you could ever need on any HDTV.

But I would look into either the Sony's or the Samsungs for LCD's if you MUST go LCD. Personally I think plasma is better but that's just my opinion.

The problem with AVS is that there is just too much and there's no summed up rank chart, somewhat similar to the gfx ranking thread here on futuremark. There are simply too many threads about one or two tvs at a time and too tedious to go through all of them, I don't even have a starting point.

I still like plasmas over lcd's unless your going to be hooking a PC up to it.
