You wouldn't believe the kinda behind the scenes campaign crapola I'm sworn to secrecy about.

And I aint a gonna tell ya either, you lazy bastids. Get out there. Get involved. You'll find out.

You don't make changes in this world by sitting home on your butts. You may think that sitting in front of that keyboard and monitor will make a difference... but it aint where it's at.

Din't touch those hors. But, even the press corps got fed at this one... they appreciated it because it never happens at GOP events. THey were treated like kings at this one.

Everyone drank pop and juice. It was ALL binezz.

I had a couple of beer before, and many after.

heheheh If I had been drunk when Senator Grassley took questions ... I'da really been on my buddy Dr. Wankell's sh*tlist. I left immediately when the question and answer thing started. SMART!

I'm gonna elaborate a bit... forgive me, please.

The Lady of the Evening (a Baptist Minister's wife) is exactly what is ruining the Republican Party, in my eyes.

She's a lovely lady, wonderful, warm, loving etc. etc. etc.

But, the GOP has become synonymous with the religious nut right wing like never before. This 2nd round of Bush royalty has made it worse than ever.

And look at the mess they've gotten us into.

It's about time some of ya gave ground and swung back to reality.

Hey AKA - I'm just wondering what church you go to.

The Christian rules are easy:

Do you disagree with any of the following? If not - suck it up - you're a Christian.

The Ten Commandments of God As Given By Moses

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
5. Honour thy father and thy mother.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
10. Thou shalt not covet.

edit - Glad you got to get involved and have some fun via the GOP.

actually they call themselves "Lutherans" aka... and I am one.

Lutherans are far from cultish.. and many if not most Lutherans tend to be liberal ... hence the reason why the most Lutheran states (Washington, Minnesota) tend to go to the Democrats.

True there are smaller sects of Lutheranism (Wisconsin Synod, Missouri Synod) that are a bit off the beaten trail (still feel that women need to be subservient to men and won't allow female pastors), but they aren't mainstream, like the ELCA is.

Anyway, whatever works for you

Ducky I doubt that you know very much about the bible or even believe it but try this...

Question: "Women pastors / preachers? What does the Bible say about women in ministry?"

Answer: There is perhaps not a more debated issue in the church today than the issue of women serving as pastors / preachers in ministry. As a result, it is very important to not view this issue as men versus women. There are women who believe that women should not serve as pastors and that the Bible places restrictions on the ministry of women - and there are men who believe that women can serve as preachers and that there are no restrictions on women in ministry. This is not an issue of chauvinism or discrimination. It is an issue of Biblical interpretation.

1 Timothy 2:11-12 proclaims, “A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.” In the church, God assigns different roles to men and women. This is a result of the way mankind was created (1 Timothy 2:13) and the way in which sin entered the world (2 Timothy 2:14). God, through the Apostle Paul’s writing, restricts women from serving in roles of spiritual teaching authority over men. This precludes women from serving as pastors, which definitely includes preaching to, teaching, and having spiritual authority over men.
