Default Andrew Sullivan's take on Obama's record
I so freaking HATE the "long game" crap Sullivan spews. It's so delusional. When Obama does something Sullivan hates, it's all about the "long game". Oh, Obama really wants to do what I want, but he's playing a long game right now. BULL! Obama is doing what he wants to do, and sometimes it ain't exactly what Sullivan or lefties want to do. I think Sullivan is still convinced that Obama really wants gay marriage, but he's playing a "long game" .

Not that Obama isn't better than anyone on the Republican side, mind.

Obama's record of war, debt, spending and torture is all part of the long game.

edit: forgot Obama stopped water-boarding. I guess 1/4 isn't bad.

A caveat: I write this as an unabashed supporter of Obama from early 2007 on. I did so not as a liberal, but as a conservative-minded independent appalled by the Bush administration’s record of war, debt, spending, and torture.
One would hope that Sullivan isn't delusional enough to still believe he's a conservative and is simply maintaining the facade for rhetorical benefit, but this is the lead cheerleader for Trigerism we're talking about... Oh, don't underestimate Sullivan's delusions. IIRC, he believes he's basically the only conservative left while the rest of the Republicans are radicals and reactionaries.

Yes, the current crop of candidates doesn't really improve that image, especially now that Huntsman has dropped out.
