Landon Donovan for his performance; Alexi Lalas for his hair and irritating occupation.

Maybe even Tim Howard for his 2010 World Cup performance.

I'd say Clint Dempsey but that's more on Premier League showing. Whether the folks back home know and appreciate him as much for it I cant say.

There is a funny clip ( fast forward to 1 minute ) where Alexi gets asked how Lionel Messi will play at the Euros.

This is a seriously depressing list. I watched an MLS game today and it made me feel even worse.

Brad Friedel for his overall consistency at the top level for all these years.

Clint Dempsey appears to be getting better but I this article made me laugh:-

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...s-to-liverpool

Unfortunately for American fans, Fulham is in the shadows of Europe’s elite squads, hiding Dempsey’s success from American eyes.

A move to the Reds would put Dempsey among the few American stars to play for a [red]legitimate soccer club[/red], and put the 29-year-old back in the spotlight. I hope some Fulham fans read that :-)

After the US' humiliating shutdown in the '98 WC, I ended up in line for a urinal behind Alexi @ Reagan International while on my way to NY... but due to man code, I could not make eye contact or say anything.

My mind slipped when I made the thread, I originally meant "best," not "famous."

You are the best thread reader on FM, that is for sure.

But since we are talking about NFL, Ed Reed is the greatest player ever.

Now, how exactly does one "dawn" something? I know how to don something (though not an entire sports league), but I've never dawned anything.
