anybody here a morel mushroom-hunting aficionado and have any idea how this strange weather will affect fruiting times?

Humm, the husband goes out to his family farm and gets some every year, but he just shrugged his shoulders when I asked. We'll be patiently waiting to see if you get a response!

My father just asked me the same question earlier today. I told him I feared the warm weather this year has probably messed everything up. I doubt I'll have the opportunity to discover the truth of the matter firsthand as I will be undergoing surgery on the 19th. Chances are I won't be able to make it out to the woodland this year for my annual morel hunt.

What we normally do in my area is to hit up areas that recently burned in mixed Oak/Pine forested areas. Going out four or five weeks after the last rains usually means tons of morels.
