Default Workout Music
I am getting back into running after a knee injury which come to find out was a result of improper rehab after my broken wrist, broken ankle injury last year. I have been working on a playlist for the short runs that I have been doing.

So far this is my favorite

Do you have any playlists or songs that push you through your workouts?

Britney Spears. Something about Brit Brit just gets my ass moving.

Here's a recent playlist:

No Diggity by Blackstreet (great for climbing on the spin bike!)
Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger
Ready to Start by Arcade Fire
Teenage Dream by Katy Perry (I work out to Katy a lot too!)
Too Much by Sufjan Stevens
Wanna Be Startin Somethin by Michael Jackson
Call Your Girlfriend by Robyn
Til the World Ends by Britney Spears
Gossip Folks by Missy Elliott
Everlong by Foo Fighters (one of the greatest songs ever written, great for sprints)

I listen to a lot of dance music when exercising. My favorite song to work out to is the Attention deficit remix of Made By Monkey's "I Try."

depends on my mood - when i first got back into it, i had a playlist where i'd throw songs that made me move more and then hit shuffle.
had a lot of dance/pop stuff and then some stuff i actually would listen to too (arcade fire, tori, bjork, pj harvey...)

lately i've been doing albums...marina & the diamonds, sigur ros (just saw them last monday), tori, and santigold(used that one today) have been in recent rotations
sigur ros really got me running faster than the others, and tori live 99.

I like pop and dance music when I work out. I have one spin teacher who plays classic rock and while I love her, I find it hard to get into listening to these songs.

Still in progress, but I have a solid playlist going. I haven't had a "Running Playlist" since I had to run with a disk-man back in 2004. Normally, I would just take my iPod and hit shuffle. However, I got tired of skipping songs that weren't running worthy. Since I am basically starting running over from the beginning, its the perfect time to start new habits. I am pretending to be a total newbie, so I don't go out too fast or build up mileage too fast. Four months after fracturing/spraining my ankle and sustaining boney contusions on the entire outside half of my foot, I was running four miles. Ridiculous!!! I was just soo pissed because I was on pace for a 1:55 half marathon when I ate it!!!!

Back in Black ··AC/CD
Las cosas por su nombre ··Ana Tijoux
Human Behavior ··Björk
El hormiguero ··Calle 13
No pidas perdón ··Mala RodrÃ*guez
Wherever I May Roam ··Metallica
Corre Lola ··Ojos de Brujo (feat. Amaral)
Gasoline Dreams ··OutKast
Alive ··Pearl Jam
Machine Gun ··Portishead
Shine ··Rollins Band
Gangsta ··Tune-Yards
Seven Nation Army ··The White Stripes

My music is a lot of Metallica...
One of my favorite running songs is "Wherever I May Roam".

As for Garbage, I love "Metal Heart" and "As Heaven is Wide" on a playlist.

Thank you so much to everyone for the replies. I remember a lot of songs I used to run to as well as new ideas, all thanks to this thread!

I love Portishead's "Machine Gun" for the pacing.

My music is a lot of Metallica, Manowar (don't judge) and Iron Maiden. The rhythm of the drums get the feet moving and the adrenaline flowing. The first song on my list is Iron Maiden - Hallowed be They Name. I'm well into a mile before that thing ends. The pacing is just right. Garbage - Why Do You Love Me? is perfect for pacing as well.

Yes. Gimme More is my favourite workout song at the moment. I really only listen to pop, dance and hip-hop while exercising. This weeks playlist has been:

I Like That - Houston
Rump Shaker - Wreckx N Effect
Teardrops - Womack and Womack
Bad Romance - Lady Gaga
Lose Control - Missy Elliot
Sexy Bitch - Akon (I KNOW!!)
Good Vibrations - Marky Mark ()
Song for Mutya - Groove Armada
Poison - Bell Biv Devoe
Backstreets Back - Backstreet Boys (And now any last shred of credibility I had is gone )
OMG that's really close to my 90's R&B guilty pleasure playlist.
