Thanks to all. I was so excited I slept like crap and planned on playing 2 rounds today but wifey caught me walking out this morning and said,"is the grass mowed and did you get the boards replaced on the fence?" arghhhhh!
You need quieter shoes!

Congrats on the great round, that is excellent!

(P.S. -- you think your first post was LONG? Have you looked around this site?)

congratz on the great round. Enjoy the new irons..
When things go well... grass is greener, food taste better, etc... sounds like fun.
Glad for the 70's. Best music, best movies, best times and Oh yeah, best golf score!

Playing a round with the course pro sounds awesome. I need to look into doing that at some point. Congrats on the new Burner 2.0 purchase, I love mine! And LOL at the wife catching you leaving the house to play golf, that gave me a good laugh.

Congrats!
What a great $50!
I am so stoked that I decided to buy the Burner 2.0's. Man did they perform like I was hoping.
I played a lone 9 holes this morning to get them figured out because they a radical change from my old Adams Idea A1's. I was hitting thing and shanking etc for the first few holes, then something clicked and I started swinging them the way I used to swing my old Top~Flite Tours. I had to change my swing to suit the new clubs since there is a ton less bounce and stronger lofts.
Now my driver was pathetic as usual but a guy in a cart came by and asked how I was doing and I told him. "The way I'm hitting my driver I would pay 50.00 for some help (jokingly). He introduced him self as the assistant head pro of the course and asked if he could play the last 4 holes with me and I agreed.
He took a look in bag and said nice irons. He teed off and blistered a 275-280 drive right down the center into a 15 mph breeze, when I was set to hit he said stop and told me to move my hands , sit down a bit on the ball. Bang a dead straight shot about 255-260. He made me hit 3 balls and it kept getting better. After our 4 holes were up he said for 50.00 he would play a full round with me and give me pointers along the way!
Well he had 2 other guys in the clubhouse join us and off we went. I had 3 very bad tee shots the entire round, most were in the short stuff and a good distance for me. The big change was when he moved my hands on my irons and showed me proper alignment. My irons became darts to the flag and were long much longer for me, I am a short hitter and my 7 was hitting about 160-165 consistently in a 15-20mph crosswind.
Low penetrating shots with a good amount of backspin to stick the greens. After a 40 on the front he said BUY A NEW PUTTER because the one you have is not balanced and it sucks (it should suck,it cost 14.00 lol). If I had hit 1/2 my putts and most were inside 10 feet he said I would have beat most players there.
I wound shooting a 38 on the back 9 and missed several putts for birds.
So all in all I shot a 78 finally kicking that 80 habit!
