Default GHIN - Enter Scores If Playing By Yourself
If you play a round as a single do you enter your score in GHIN?

I know the scorecards have scorer and attest. And, I understand that some players may sandbag it and turn in high scores to jack their hdcp up. But, when I play by myself, and I play well, I still feel a responsibility to turn that score in. But, if GHIN "requires" that you have someone else in the group, am I needlessly improving my handicap by turning in the good scores from when I play as a single.

My club gave me my GHIN number and I registered it online. I post all my scores that I play with someone else or by myself. If they did not want us to, then they should not have enabled internet posting ability for the end golfer, only the club.

Same here...in Idaho, we just post when we are done. Supposed to be honest, but some do sandbag.

YEah, I think that's a problem even with attested scores. People hitting poor shots after they've won or can't win a hole; blowing putts by, etc. The key is "play by the rules", and have integrity after all, it's a Gentleman's Game,

I have a question though.

For those who post online. Are you allowed to post scores from previous months?(2012 year not any from 2011) Or only scores from in season?

We don't have a designated season in TX, but when I joined my club on 10/1/2011, I turned in cards from the previous 2-3 months to speed up the process of getting my handicap established.

I do turn in most scores when playing alone. If I am not playing within the rules, then I don't post it. The worst thing I do which is not within the rules, practice shots--if the course is empty and I play two or more balls, or just hit several practice shots then that score does not count. Play'em down, putt'em out, break no rules, then you are obligated to post it.

I post all scores alone or not. I follow all the rules I know of (no mulligans whether I warmed up or not, no gimmes, provisionals etc etc) whenever I'm playing by myself. Ultimately, shows me how my game is doing.

We have a season, so can't post from November 15 until March 1....it won't let you use the dates.

I think you can go in and post scores from 2011 right now. Just simply change the year when picking the date.

This is the USGA/GHIN part that I was concerned with. Good find!
