Default New Srixon Convert!
I played my first round with the Srixon Z Star XV today, and I am an instant convert! I have been playing ProV1x, and have been pretty happy with it. Picked up a 2 sleeve trial-box of the XV, one white and one yellow. I put the white ball in play today, and it listened to me rather well today. This ball was playing much longer for me than the ProV, and it also took less work to get it to go. The feedback I was getting at impact was really smooth with every club in the bag. Definitely less spin than the Titleist, but I will get a better idea on greenside spin when our greens come back. Irons and wedges were launching higher and coming down soft, with a realistic 6-10 yard advantage over ProV1. Driver was crushing it. Longest of the day was 310, with the rest at 280+, but I was also hitting them on line. I was able to trust a draw today instead of fearing a big hook, and the fade was carrying farther and cutting less. I reached two of the par 5's in two, and had GW or SW instead of 9 and PW. On one of our longest holes, I had an 8 iron out of the rough, where I've usually been hitting anything from a 6 to 3wood coming in! All of that and it's still soft on the putter and rolls true. Also a pretty durable cover. I played one ball the entire round, and even with a couple dances with trees, only has 1 small scuff.

This already sounds like a paid program testimonial, but all of it is true! I feel like this ball matches my expectations of what a ball should do, and I have the confidence it's going where I aim it.

Shot a 75 for my best score yet.

Grats man! That ball and the 330RX are the two on my list of possible switches from my penta.

Good deal Dr.D, that is pretty much how I feel about the B330-RX, it is great when you find the ball that fits your game. Congrats.

One of my playing partners tried out the Srixon Q-star on our last round. He kept commenting through the round how much he loved the ball flight and distance. He usually plays Bridgestone 330 RXS, he said based on the price difference espically between the two taking into account the performance of both that the Q-star was the winner.

I really liked playing the Z-Star XV that I found during a round, they are some quality balls. I was sad to see it go into the water, lol.

Glad to hear it, Doc. I made the same switch at the end of last year. Same exact findings as you. Only ball I play now.

I find the Z Star is similar to the RX330 when I play them. I give a slight edge to the RX.

Congrats, i was playing the Zstar all year until a couple weeks ago i switched back to the tour iZ, i love everything about the Zstar except the side spin off the tee is punishing, havent spent much time with the XV but i have a couple yellow ones in my bag i need to try out. I do know it feels pretty soft for being the harder/distance version
