Default After 12 yrs of golf....I finally took a golf lesson.
I had wallowed in a pit of frustration for weeks and I had enough of it. I couldnt get my driver swing back and was really lost. So I contacted David at Heron Lakes CC. He is a PGA Professional and has headed the local PGA board for many years. His wife is also one of my youngest sons school teachers. I showed up on time and warmed up. I hit a few bags of balls and he watches me. I hit a few nice shots with the 7 iron, duff one or two, and we start. I found out quite a bit about how far along my game is compared to where it use to be. (Mid to low 80's) And I'm really not that far off. He stated I had a great stance, good tempo and coordination. He worked on the irons with me first and I had an almost instant improvement with consistancy. I was crowding the ball every now and then and my down swing needed to be inside a little more. It really helped. Then the driver. The dreaded driver. Aparently my swing plane is a little steep and I tend to step out or stand up on the down swing. I started getting comfortable swinging the driver the last 15 minutes of the session and have a feww drills to work on. All in all, it was a great experience. He wants me to work on what I learned for 7-10 days and then come back in. 3 lessons for $100. And he's with me for an hour each time. I wish I had done this years ago.

Good for you! Lessons have changed everything for me even though I still have a long way to go. That's a GREAT deal! Thanks for sharing with us.

Very good price indeed, I am sure these lessons will help you. I would be totally lost without lessons, I take them in a regular basis and need one badly after a bad round just to get my head on straight

Thanks. It's definitely a relief to know I am finaly going forward instead of trying to find things on my own which, more times than not, results in going backwards.

That's a really good price for 3 lessons, and it seems like he really cares about helping you!
Keep it up, and keep us posted on the progress.

Good luck with the rest of your lessons and post in here updating your progress! Glad you finally made the jump to get a lesson, that's why the PGA Pros are there, to help. Nobody is above getting lessons and I believe a lesson every 4-6months with the same teacher is a good habit to get into.

My girlfriend and I are planning on going to a weekend golf school next summer and we are really looking forward to it. Glad to hear that it helped you and I hope it continues to. It will be nice to be corrected my a pro instead of myself for a change. Especially since that really is not working out as of late...

Yeah, right! I really think its suppose to be 30 minutes per session but he is spending a little longer with me due to his wife being my sons school teacher. Super nice guy and very knowledgable.

Excellent! I've GOT to get some lessons. Will do when the budget allows it.
