Default Driving distance variables based on the weather
Wondering if this is common experience for members.

We have seen a number of posts about the play it forward initiative and related topics. It is probably a more complicated topic than it would appear on the surface.

I went out to play today feeling pretty good about things. My balky elbow has continued to improve. It was a beautiful day, very warm and sunny. So my aging joints and bones were about as well oiled and feeling as good as they are going to feel. Plus I suspected that the ball was going to carry pretty good today and while it has been very wet here, there has been enough drying so that the ball will roll out some anyway.

Results:
Off the tee, drives that can sometimes be 210 to 220 yards in length were 230-240 yard drives today and I got one of them out there 255. I play from the blues which are the men's regular tees (the blacks are the tourney tees and are the longest on the courses that I play). I can tell you from experience that this game becomes much easier if you can come up with that additional 20-30 yards. I had some 170 approach shots and some down to 120. This game becomes pretty easy even for me if I am looking at a flag from 120.

So I am wondering if others find a considerable disparity in their driving distance depending on the the type of day.

I will grant you that since I am 58 now, feeling like I was 45 again likely made a huge difference. If it had not been a beautiful day, I would not have likely been as fluid as I was. So for me a beautiful day like this is a double whammy. My swing is as fluid as it is going to get and the ball is going to carry pretty good.

So the blues are not an issue of any sort on day like today. Heck I could have played from the blacks and not embarrassed myself. In fact had I played from the next set of tees up from the blues I would have overmatched the course for the most part. However take even 20 yards on average off those drives and I am not even taking an iron out of the bag for an approach shot.
