I found the following at BTTF.com's discussion board, and I've not had the chance to check the validity of it (I will, since I bought these) but apparently there was a problem with a few of the frames on all the widescreen editions, on Back to the Future 2, and 3's discs. Anyways, heres what you can do about it:
Universal Studios will exchange Back to the Future parts 2 and 3 for copies with the updated framing in late February 2003. You may send the DVDs back now or wait until February. Please send Back to the Future disks 2 and 3, without the case, and a letter with the following information: Name Full Mailing Address Daytime Phone Number Reason for Return Return Address: Back to the Future DVD Returns PO Box 224468 Dallas, Texas 75260 For Canadian Residents: Call Customer Service 866-532-2202 Universal Studios Home Video is aware of a minor technical framing issue on the "Back to the Future Trilogy" widescreen DVDs. The framing appears differently from the laser disc releases for approximately two minutes during "Back to the Future 2" and four minutes on "Back to the Future 3." The framing difference is unnoticeable to widescreen DVD viewers and does not detract from or interrupt the viewing experience. Thank you, Universal Studios Customer Service Obiviously this is over a year old, but if its accurate, anyone with the old DVDs (like myself) should be able to get this problem fixed by mailing it in. I encourage you to call before sending, as I will do Monday to learn whats up and reply then, but now you know something else ![]() Stan |
