He tells website About.com, "The script was rewritten. I'm a huge fan of each actor that they cast originally, but to have kept the actors when we are reinventing the story would have been an odd process. "To say, 'Write a script with these people in mind for characters that haven't been written,' just felt like we had to start over with a clean slate." Abrams, who has yet to announce his replacements for the project, is committed to starting the shoot in July. Comments/Opinions: Mission: Impossible 3's been plagued with delay problems due to Tom Cruise having to rush into filming Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds, along with having to find a different director/screenwriter for this film. But when it comes to star power, this one takes quite a blow with them leaving. Now, the producers are going to have to scramble for other actresses, again, to fill their roles. Hah, maybe they should take this as a sign...seriously this one in the end probably won't even be worth the trouble anyway. |
