Default First Pics Of BloodRayne | Full-Length Kill Bill Release | Sky Captain Prequel?
--------------------------------------
Exclusive Look: BloodRayne

Source: Dread Central

Principal photography continues in Romania on Uwe Boll's third video game-to-film effort BloodRayne and we've got an exclusive first look at Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3) as the film's half-human/half-vamp heroine.

Penned by American Psycho's Guinevere Turner, the screenplay acts as a prequel to the events that follow in Majesco's bloody good video game. In the film BloodRayne finds herself orphaned at a young age and joins a circus freak show. "She is the daughter of the lead vampire, the lead bad guy Kagan, and her journey in the film is just becoming what she is," Loken explains to Dread Central. "She knows she is a little bit weird, a little bit off, but she doesn't quite know why. So this is basically her transformation in finding out the truth and coming to terms with it and dealing with all the repercussions." Playing her father, Kagan, is Oscar winner Ben Kingsley who is currently being seen on the big screen as a predator of another sort in E. Elias Merhige's Suspect Zero.

Also rounding out the Bloodrayne cast is William Sanderson, Matt Davis, and Michelle Rodriguez (Resident Evil) and Michael Madson (Kill Bill) who play Katarin and Vladimir, respectively, a pair of vampire hunters from the Brimstone Society who convince BloodRayne to join them in their bloodsucker slaying efforts.

Of course, modern cinema and television has proven that you can't battle vamps without high-tech weaponry. And anyone who has played the game knows BloodRayne wields two massive blades, so while some may be perturbed that the film's plot won't match the source material, they can at least take heart in knowing BloodRayne will have her signature moves and weapons which Loken has been training for. "Right now I am learning how to work with my swords that are very different to any other kinds of weapons I've worked with before. I'm doing that sort of training and I'm trying to stay really fit and learning how to talk with the teeth, the fangs and just really kind [putting] myself into that dark atmosphere - and what better place is there to do it than in Romania, where the whole folklore originated from."

Look for BloodRayne in theaters next year.

Full-Length Kill Bill DVD Release

Source: USA Today,ComingSoon.net

USA Today talked to Quentin Tarantino about the success of Hero in theaters. The film was billed as "presented by Quentin Tarantino" and took the top spot with an impressive $18 million this weekend.

Tarantino also talked about the strong sales of Kill Bill Vol. 2 on DVD, which was released on August 10th and has remained at the top since while reinvigorating sales of Kill Bill Vol. 1.

The sales bode well for Tarantino's dream to bring a full-length Kill Bill to theaters. A film that combines the separate movies could happen as soon as early next year.

"It's not just like slapping the two together," he says. "There are slight changes, and it has an intermission, like a '60s movie."

Tarantino adds that a subsequent ultimate Kill Bill DVD would have a new collection of extras. "It won't make these two (current DVDs) obsolete. We have put everything we could on volumes 1 and 2, but I have all this cool stuff we have from over the course of a year and a half making (the films)."

Sky Captain Cast Ready For A Prequel

Source: ComingSoon.net

Paramount Pictures will release the anticipated Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow into theaters on September 17, and Angelina Jolie tells ComingSoon.net that they are already thinking about the next step.

Jolie says that if the special effects action-thriller, written and directed by Kerry Conran, is a success at the box office, then the cast is ready to make a "Sky Captain" prequel. Jolie plays Franky Cook, commander of an amphibious squadron, who aids Sky Captain (Jude Law) and chronicle reporter Polly Perkins (Gwyneth Paltrow) in an attempt to stop Dr. Totenkopf from destroying the earth.

Angelina mentioned that the prequel would cover such things as her romance with Sky Captain (she's his old flame in the Sept. 17 film), why she has an eye patch, and much more.

Jolie added that she will not be doing any more "Tomb Raider" movies, saying that she's done everything with the character that she could.

Stay tuned for lots more from Jolie and the rest of the "Sky Captain" cast.
--------------------------------------

Damn, Loken is pretty damn hot. Even though it's not the pale, red-haired BloodRayne we're used to. Loken looks the part perfectly.

I knew that Tarantino would release a Full-Length Kill Bill DVD. It was just a matter of time. In my opinion, this is the way the movie should be viewed.

Not really much to say about the Sky Captain prequel. Just have to see the first one and then know if we'll want a prequel or not. Hopefully the movie will be a great one, especially with 99% of the movie being CGI.

I don't find her very attractive like that actually. The movie itself sounds like it has immense potential. Michael Madsen is always a good cast addition.

It was a given that he would put them together as one as that was his original plan. I'm looking forward to it since I was actually patient trying to wait for the full movie together. Wonder what features they will add and if there will be things that were only on the first two DVD's (which from what I hear don't have many features.)

Lastly, Sky Captian has sounded very interesting to me for a while. It has that style to it like back in around 1940's and 1950's comics and movies had visioned the future. Now it is the future and it's cool they are doing it that way. Sort of makes me want to watch the Rocketeer, someone the same era of design. Well, I'll see the first then make judgement, I'm not a big fan of the cast (besides Giovanni) but I'll set that aside for the show.
