 convert to shi'a islam
Assalamualeykum,
I'm a recent convert from Spain who started bad I think, because I started reading on Islam in Shi'ite sources. Let me explain briefly. Moroccans here in Spain are sunni, but first muslims I talked to where Iraqui Shi'as and they have lend me books on the right of 'Ali to caliphate very disrespectful of the Companions. At the beginning I thought everything they told me to be very logical but after giving it a second thought I began to have serious doubts. Now I'm looking for help. If you could direct me to online books on the correct Aqeeda. I have to learn everything right from the beginning so any help will be welcomed. Thanks and Wasalam! |

 Welcome brother. Delving into controversial aspects is not the best way to learn some thing. So in deed you started on a wrong foot. But then life is like that. There is a long thread here on Sunni Forum about the matters relevant for you. I have a few books on Sunni-Shia matters but they are in Urdu and I do not know about the availability of their English translation. But again there are very knowledgeable brothers on this forum who'll help you out. Wassalam |

Assalamualeykum, Praise be to God who has guided you to Islam and saved you from the evils of the deviant sects, many people are fooled by the "Twelver Shiite" sect especially on the internet and I am sure the brothers here will provide MANY proper authentic Islamic books for you to read. |

Brother Habeel and welcom to the forum. I humbly request the Brothers and Sisters on this forum, who reply to the brothers post, not to turn this thread into one which denounces Shia'ism. There are plenty of threads on here which refute them, that can be accessed easily. Unless of course brother Habeel wants a specific question answered about the topic, as the differences between Shia'ism an Sunnis is a rather complex issue and would only serve to confuse the brother. What the original poster needs is sources which pertain the the basic principals of Islam.  I think he wants to learn About Proper Islam, I suggest you give him links to e-books of Seerah and books of Fiqh and so on... Don't give him anything complicated though. |

I also think brother would like to find way to proper islam. Using opportunity I would like to say that many reverts are lost in question of different schools, concept of ijtihad in sunni islam. Can someone suggest some good links on subject? Also I have read the door of shools was open by one scholar from al-Azhar university in Cairo... Thanks for help, Allahs guidance with us! |

elhamdolillah you have not fallen into the trap of the evil shiites. Per your request, this is a good site to read PDF books on the tenants of Islam. Ali RA served as the chief judge, senior advisor, helped implement the shariah during the 3 caliphs, and even was even put in charge by Omer RA. Also, Ali RA had sent his sons [al Hassan RA and al Hossayn RA] to protect Osman RA from the khawarij rioters. Did I not mention that Ali RA named his sons after the 3 caliphs RA and married off his own daughter RA to Omer RA? |

Assalamualeykum, As a Sunni Iranian I am well aware of the missionary work of the Rafidah Shias and their stooges (Iraqis, Lebanese etc.). There is Rafidi Da3wa in many parts of south america even in the caribic (!). Instead of getting into polemics , i will make a case based on my claim that "Shiasm is an insult to human intellect, self respect and rational thinking , let alone being a Religion" .Shiasm lacks a central coherent theme so it makes it hard for me to pin point some of their common beliefs but Here are the basic pretensions of shiasm on which it stands.
1. The era in which Sayyedna Muhammad SWS lived was an era of turmoil and only 7 people converted to Islam. The rest of the people who spent a great deal of time with the Prophet PBUH were hypocrites.Even he could not many of his save many of his own wives who are in hell -fire now (Na'audubillah min Zalik) . The duty of cursing the companions and wives of Prophet PBUH was left to the Shias to come later. 2. Hadrat Ali ra deserved to be the Caliph and it was binding on each an every person of that time to accept him as his Imam but it did not happen. The real Islam got buried right there. While the real Islam was drowning , Hadrat Ali played the role of a silent spectator as he could have been killed if he would have opposed the hypocrites. 3.The son of Hadrat Ali ra , Hadrat Hassan ra followed his father and so gave the caliphat to Hadra Muaviya ra (Who is a heretic according to the shias) 4.However , for some strange and unexplained reasons , the other son of Hadrat Ali ra , Hadrat Hussain ra decided to go against the rules laid by his father(ie to remain silent out of fear of death) and he picked up the sword and revolted against a tyrant king. His own cousins and brother did not accompany him in this battle so they also became heretic. 5. It is binding on every Muslim to follow and obey the divinely appointed Imams of the time in every worldly and extra-wolrdly matter. The institution of Imamat was set to save the Muslims from getting deviated. However , numerous sects emerged with in shiasm due to the differences on "selection" of Imams and the Imams and sons of Imams had many troubles in between them (One wonders why would a "divinely appointed" selected?) Its a nice read about this myth http://www.schiiten.com/backup/Ahlel...of-imamah.html 6.All of the sudden or say out of the blue , it was decided the the 12th Imam (WHo never existed as the 11th Imam Hassan Askari died issue-less and it can be historically proved) would get into occultation (out of the fear of death. Again rejecting the Sunnah of Hadrat Hussain Ra) and at the age of 5 , he went into a cave. For some 80 years , he kept on meeting upto 4 people ( Though , hundreds claimed that they meet him) and he appointed the 4 specific people to collect money on his behalf ( Again out of the blue). However , for some unknown reasons , the non-existing 12th Imam went into "Major occultation" ( Though people keep on claiming to having met him even now) 8. It was in the late 70s of the last century (some 1100 years after the disappearance of the non existent 12th Imam) that Khomeini was appointed as the "deputy of the 12th Imam" and following him was declared to be as binding as following the 12th Imam himself. (Inbteween , there is a Hadhir Imam as well , ie Prince Karim Agha khan who is the present Imam of Ismaili Shias). First it was about the 11+1 Imams and now Guess what ?? Congragulations !! Though i personally think that it needs the gastro-intestinal tract of a whimsical , superstitious , daft , retarded and doomed "ithna Ashari shia" to digest it. Even that is not a perfect digestion and the devilish screaming one hears sometimes from these shias is the vomiting out of this same garbage which i have tried to summarize in the 8 points. |
