How much have you memorised?

You'll never memorise the whole quran in three months.

From what I have heard, most of the teachers there are very strict. You will not get ijazah until you have full or near-full hifdh. Allahu a'lam.

Wow, so if someone had mastered the tajwid ahkam of Hafs riwayah but did not have much memorized, would it be difficult to get ijazah just for recitation? I had heard that even many children there learn as they grow up and gain ijazah (not sure how true this is).

According to my Arabic teacher (who studied in Egypt), this is the case. So one can't get an official and proper ijazah for example in Surah Fatiha even if he knew all the rules.

Allah knows best but there may be more lenient institutes/teachers.

But personally - I think this is a solid way of preserving this exalted 'ilm. It seems ajeeb for someone to say he has ijazah in Quran without hifdh.

As for these children - maybe they become huffadh so would be eligible for ijazah anyway?
