The Giants of Persia – The carriers of knowledge (language, Tafsir, Hadith etc)

I like to understand better the following hadith mentioned in the link here in mutisays . Wanted to get second opinions as they say and verify.

Is this a fabricated shia propaganda ? Or dose this have merit ? I came across this while watching a video of Imam abu Hanifa . I searched SF for the most relevant thread where I can ask this question .

Abu Huraira reported: We were sitting in the company of Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) that Sura al-Jumu’a was revealed to him and when he recited (these words):” Others from amongst them who have not yet joined them,” Then a person amongst them (those who were sitting there) said: Allah’s Messenger...! But Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) made no reply, until he questioned him once, twice or thrice. There was amongst us Salman al Farisi (The Persian). The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) placed his hand on Salman and then said: Even if faith were near the Pleiades (The furthest Planet), a man from amongst these (Presians) would surely find it. Abu Hanifah (ra) was a Persian?

(Makes no difference to me, actually. Exceptional folk can be any race.)

Yes I agree. But that is not the objective . When I googled I found many shia sites using the same hadith to promote their cause .

In most cases they would change the term of an individual to a general reference to all
Persians .

So I wanted to know how much of this is accepted as authentic and how much of it is like so much of what you find on the web , conveniently placed statements referring to hadith sources.
