Salaam 'aleikom,
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, wasn't sure if this was the right section. I have read that the Hanafi, Hanbali and Shafi`i madhabs say that making pictures is prohibited. They based their arguments on many sahih ahadith from the Prophet(pbuh) which state that it is not allowed to make images. I have read somewhere else that the Maliki madhab says that it is allowed to make 2d images. My question is, is this true? If it is, on what did they base their arguments that it is allowed to make images? And how do they look at the numerous ahadith that report that the Prophet(pbuh) prohibited the making of images? I am not talking about (digital) photography that we know in our time, cause I know there is disagreement between the scholars about this point. But I mean pictures/images drawn with the hand on paper, painting etc. Wa Salaam. |
