Is Nabi Khidr AS Still Alive??? Big Question Mark
 

As-salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

I've heard a story about Ibrahim Idham RH. It is said that, there was a man who came to Ibrahim Idham RH's palace and questioned him about his palace. Some say that this man was Nabi Khidr AS.
I've heard another story also regarding Nabi Khidr AS. It is said that, he was there during the wafat of Rasulullah SAW and he was recognized by Abu Bakr RA and Imam Ali RA.
Sheikh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani and Imam an-Nawawi also claimed that they have met Nabi Khidr AS.

Is Nabi Khidr AS still alive?
Is it true that Nabi Khidr AS was part of the chain in some sufi orders like Naqshbandi, Idrisi and Sanussi?

If Nabi Khidr AS still alive, what about these verses of al-Qur'an?

And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal? Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned. (al-Anbya : 34-35)

Imam Bajuri mentions in his commentary on the very famous aqeedah text called Jawhara at Tauhid that there are 3 opinions in regards to the status of Khadr(as).
1. Rasul
2. Nabi
3. Wali

Imam Bajuri says he takes the middle opinion.
Khadr(as) is alive but he too will die as you quoted that "every soul shall taste death".
