Need help
 

Assalamualaykum.

I need help, hope you can help.

I started my education this summer after a failed first year on another course. I didn't tell anybody in my family that I failed and I started on a different course. I like this course better, alhamdulillah.
Many a times they have asked "how is the school going" I just say, alhamdulillah, "I am happy."
I have always managed to switch topic with "hikmah". I am doing this because I dont want to hear my familiy say" after you started practising you have become extremely lazy, unresponsiblle, the tablighis\"wahabis" have done this and that with your brains, bla bla bla"
But today, I just lied. Astaghfirullah, I don't feel good. They asked a direct question this time time and I told a direct lie... what should I do? I have done Taubah...
If I confess, then it will be harder to practice Deen.... Answer please...

I think that the further you'll get on with your lie, the more lies you will "have to" tell them.
Take courage, talk with them and explain them the reasons of your change, asking them to forgive you for your lie and telling them you were afraid of disappointing them.
At the same time, strive to get good results and to show you're fully interested in what you're studying now, so they will insha'Allah see your reason to shift..
