Question about these hadith?
 

Can someone give me the explanation of these hadith? In these hadith the Prophet pbuh is saying that the Sun sets into the water/spring, we know that is scientifically wrong.

Why did not Prophet say that Earth moves around the Sun?

Sunan Abu Dawud: 4002 حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَعُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ الْمَعْنَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ عَنْ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ كُنْتُ رَدِيفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَلَى حِمَارٍ وَالشَّمْسُ عِنْدَ غُرُوبِهَا فَقَالَ هَلْ تَدْرِي أَيْنَ تَغْرُبُ هَذِهِ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَإِنَّهَا تَغْرُبُ فِي عَيْنٍ حَامِيَةٍ

Musnad Ahmed:
20948 حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حُسَيْنٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى حِمَارٍ وَعَلَيْهِ بَرْذَعَةٌ أَوْ قَطِيفَةٌ قَالَ فَذَاكَ عِنْدَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ فَقَالَ لِي يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ هَلْ تَدْرِي أَيْنَ تَغِيبُ هَذِهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَإِنَّهَا تَغْرُبُ فِي عَيْنٍ حَامِئَةٍ تَنْطَلِقُ حَتَّى تَخِرَّ لِرَبِّهَا عَزَّ وَجَلَّ سَاجِدَةً تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ فَإِذَا حَانَ خُرُوجُهَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لَهَا فَتَخْرُجُ فَتَطْلُعُ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُطْلِعَهَا مِنْ حَيْثُ تَغْرُبُ حَبَسَهَا فَتَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ إِنَّ مَسِيرِي بَعِيدٌ فَيَقُولُ لَهَا اطْلُعِي مِنْ حَيْثُ غِبْتِ فَذَلِكَ حِينَ لَا يَنْفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَانُهَا

That is not a scientific statement or claim in the first place. The Prophet (saw) simply stated what is seen and perceived by the human eye when one looks out at a body of water.. The same is mentioned in the Qur'an in Surah al-Kahf (ayah 86). 'Allamah Suyuti says that it is obvious that this in relation to what is seen by our eyes because the Sun is in fact larger than the Earth.

Therefore it is obvious that the literal meaning is not intended here in the sense that you a thinking. The whole idea of the sun setting in a place is restricted to what is perceived by our eyes nor is stating that the sun sets somewhere negating the reality of earth's rotation around it. Sunsets are always used to describe the process as it is perceved by our eyes.
