By now most of you must have heard how the human population on earth is supposed to cross the 7 billion mark today (Ok, the 70 billion figure that I putup in the thread's title is, every human has 10 fingers, so 7 billion (7,000,000,000 x 10 = 70,000,000,000) http://discussworldissues.com/forums...cheesygrin.gif

Nobody knows for sure who exactly in the 7 billionth baby, but Nargis from U. P (India) is supposedly that baby.

Nargis from UP is world’s 7 billionth citizen.
LUCKNOW: Child rights organisation Plan India, on Monday, celebrated the birth of Nargis, the world's symbolic seven billionth baby. Resident of Dhanaur village in Mall block of Lucknow, Nargis was born to Ajay and Vinita Yadav. At the time of birth, Nargis, the first child of the Yadavs, weighed 3 kg.

Lets put that figure in perspective:

Very true. No one can claim that the census is 100% correct. Only Allah http://discussworldissues.com/forums...lies/taala.gif knows the accurate figure.

Asalaamu Alaikum,

Do not forget how Godless the west is, with Christianity being a mere title to the majority some.

Islam's the fastest growing religion, but not the biggest followed, yet. Experts predict that by 2050, Islam will officially takeover Christianity as the biggest followed religion, Inshallah.

However, Sunni Islam is the biggest followed "Sect" in the world, this includes being bigger then Christian sects like Catholic etc.

According to Guinness Book of World Records, Islam is the world’s fastest-growing religion by number of conversions each year: Although the religion began in Arabia, by 2002 80% of all believers in Islam lived outside the Arab world. In the period 1990-2000, approximately 12.5 million more people converted to Islam than to Christianity.[27] In 1990, 935 million people were Muslims and this figure had risen to around 1.2 billion by the year 2000, meaning that around this time one in five people were followers of Islam. According to the BBC, a comprehensive American study concluded in 2009 the number stood at 1 in 4 with 60% of Muslims spread all over the Asian continent

The report also made reference to the fact that Muslims are estimated to make up 23.4% of the total global population in 2010 (out of a total of 6.9 billion people) and that by 2030 Muslims will represent about 26.4% of the global population (out of a total of 8.9 billion people).[28]

Inshallah, as Allah wills and only He knows best.
