Beginning time of Asr in other madhabs

what is the ruling on begining time of Asr in other madhabs than hanafi, does their beginning time start before our hanafi beginning time?

The opinion of Malik, ShafiŽi, Ahmad, and Abu Hanifa's top students, Abu Yusuf and Muhammad bin al-Hasan, is that when the length of the object's shadow is the same as the object itself, ŽAsr has entered. This is while the view of Abu Hanifa is that it is when the shadow is twice the object's length. One should keep in mind the possible shadow at the time of noon.

do hanafis follow "Muslim World League"? because the asr beginning time shown on www.islamicfinder.org/ is 40 minutes earlier than the local time i follow

From the link you sent, when I put my location it shows the time according to the majority, and not that of al-Imam Abu Hanifa (ra). However, the Imam's two biggest students disagreed with him, and it would be in line with their opinion. While many Indian Hanafis do not seem to allow this, some do, especially Hanafis in other localities and communities.

Ya Rifa'i, we do have usul, you know http://discussworldissues.com/forums...icon_smile.gif

Imam Abu Hanifah's opinion takes precedence, due to his reasoning falling in line with usul as well as the dala'il being sound. It's not just Indians, it is the mu'tamad of the madh-hab by all accounts. That being said, the opinion of the Sahibayn was not weak, and can be followed, especially if it means catching jama'ah. Thus, in Arab lands where there are others apart from Hanafis, the 'ulama' allow people to follow the sahibayn. They don't differ regarding the mu'tamad, though. As you know, the mufta bihi is dependant on more than just what is mu'tamad.

You are right. But like I said. Many (most?) Indians do not allow it, while others do. That is the practical side of it, the technical side is another story http://discussworldissues.com/forums...icon_smile.gif
