Preface: I'm not a scholar. The reason I say expire is because I get so much discharge it doesn't even last a prayer these days. In that case, even so, can I assume my Magrib to be okay as i started on time? After I finished praying I realised I had gotten discharge again. I don't even feel anything coming out sometimes. |

Asalaamu Alaikum
I had a question regarding wudhu and female discharge. I know the ruling where we renew the wudhu for each prayer time and wudhu expires at the end of the prayer time. If I do wudhu and start praying magrib and whilst I'm praying magrib, if isha time begins what does this mean? Does that mean by magrib salaat is no longer valid due to wudhu expiring. After completing the salaat if I find out discharge has come does this mean I can just renew wudhu after cleaning myself and do isha or do I need to do magrib qadha too. |

Asalaamu Alaikum As long as you've started your Maghrib salah by the time Isha time comes around, your Maghrib salah will be valid. Your wudhu doesn't expire upon the start of the next prayer time. It never "expires", but can be invalidated (such as by female discharge). I do believe that as long as you are NOT aware of the discharge DURING salah, that you salah will be valid still (but you must renew before the start of your Isha salah). This was derived from the ahadith that say if you pass gas but are not aware of it, your Salat is still valid (see below.) Abu Hurairah also narrated that the Prophet said, "If one of you finds a disturbance in his abdomen and is not certain if he has released any gas or not, he should not leave the mosque unless he hears its sound or smells its scent." [Related by Muslim.] 'Abbad ibn Tameem related that his uncle queried the Prophet about a person who feels something in his abdomen while praying. Said the Prophet , "He should not leave (the prayer) until he hears it or smells it." [Related by Muslim, Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi.] Allahu Alaam |
