There is SO MUCH misinformation - I feel sorry for those who want to know the truth of whats happenin.

The fact is, what the government has done is choose not to give official sanction our decisions. It does NOT prohibit the practice.

What this means is that decisions will not be able to be enforced by the state - bad news for those women who could have resorted to state enforcement to get their money.

Also, Muslims have been offering the service since 1991 and so we are not latecomers to this.

So, all is not what it seems.

But Canada did allow an alternative system to a court, a religious arbitration court. So basically, your saying Canada is not a true democracy ?

As far as I last checked, Canada was a democracy, which allowed Christianity, and Judaism to have arbitrators, but when muslims asked for the same privilages, they were dis-respected, insulted, and the privilages of all faith based arbitrators were cancelled.

Thanks to the horrible examples of sharia in muslim countries, Canada had realized how wrong it is to mix politics and religion. It was wrong to allow religious arbitration in the first place.

I hope the UK wakes up as well.
