Has anyone done this diet successfully using 3 eggwhites for breakfast? I can NOT skip breakfast I am starving all day if I do. I am down 7 lbs in 2 days and want to continue with that trend, but my weight loss center said I could do 3 eggwhites for breakfast adn half of my lunch fruit. has anyone else tried this or done some sort of variation?

i haven't tried it but i am also a breakfast person and eat one of my allowed fruits as breakfast. you should not be starving, sounds like you are just starting out. the beginning you are hungry but by day 3 or 4 should not be hungry. i have to remind myself to eat both meals sometimes.
i have had eggwhites as my protien though (lunch or dinner) and it worked out great. good luck! |

Thanks barb! What if I gave up my dinner fruit in exchange for breakfast eggwhites LOL? Any chance this would work? I am on day 3 (VLCD) and thanks to those egg whites feeling MUCH better today. So are you usually only hungry the first couple of days? I am also having a very foggy feeling in my head, and no energy. Will that go away?

i would be wary of switching it around but i will let one of the gurus answer that. seems like switching a sugary fruit for protien rich egg whites could be a no brainer but you never know with this protocol, i try not to change it up too much because it is so delicate. there are others here who changes things up and perhaps they will have an answer for you.
yes, i was hungry, weak and headachy the first 2 days. then day 3 was no headaches, hunger or weakness. was amazing. it is different for everyone and depends on how well you loaded. some people don't load properly and feel bad for about 5 days or so. but yes the foggy feeling and hunger will go away. |

You're right barblg.
Yes it is normal to be a bit fuzzy at first and also a bit hungrier. Keep tabs on it. if you still feel hungrier around the 4th or 5th day then check back. My first round I had a friend doing it too. we had the same drops but she was starving and foggy without her hard boiled egg in the morning.... she was able to drop it the second week in. It was just the adjustment period for her. The reason for the 3 whites and no yolk is probably related to the calories and fat in the yolk. giving up your dinner fruit if you don't need it should be a pretty even calorie exchange. maybe you'll be able to put it back to normal next week or so. Fruits and veggies are important in terms of FIBER!. As for the trend of 7lbs in 2 days.... oh hun. hate to burst your bubble but that trend will end soon. Enjoy it while it lasts. the first few days are the best and huge motivators. average loss for women is approx .5 to .75/day. Still not to shabby. ![]() |

I just started P2 and I'm on VLCD D3. I have been pretty hungry and wondering the same thing about a few eggwhites in the morning. What did you end up doing and what were the results. I had a 3 lb loss from D2-D3 want to keep it up! But I'm hungry!! Hope it's true what they say about hunger dubsiding around D4-5

I would not eat egg whites in addition to the allowed food. I sometimes do use the allowed 3 egg whites + 1 whole egg as a protein choice and I split it into two meals, i.e. 2 egg whites for breakfast and 1 egg with 1 egg white for lunch. Sometimes I split my chicken or beef portions up and have 4 smaller meals, too. But I don't add extra food.

Hi barb...yes I regular have eggs as one of my meals (almost every meal) but make sure you eat 1 egg + 3 egg whites (not just 3 egg whites). Sometimes I'll even do 1 egg + 4 egg whites. Thanks, Gina |
