Composers and bands in googlefight
 

I needed a break from composing, so I decided to put 16 composers and bands in a Google Fight to see who was more popular (or most frequently spoken of) on the internet. Quite silly really, but also rather amusing for geeks like me.

Here's the result:

..as you can see: Classical music was the more popular genre in this little cup. Or at least, the names of the classical composers are most frequently used http://www.magle.dk/ubbthreads/image...mlins/grin.gif

Hmmm.... Actually its a rather surprising outcome as names like Mozart, Bach and Beethoven are a bit more "famous" among the general public.

Well, it sure seems that a majority of internet users write more about classical composers than of those in other genres. I was quite surprised that Mozart smacked up both Eminem and the Beatles, only to be beaten by Bach, and I certainly didn't like that Hans Zimmer was beaten in the first round :-)

Very cool idea, but the results aren't all that surprising.
