In Flames is actually Melodic Death Metal, however this is more of a Gothenberg influence, especially older albums - but not Thrash.

This is the Death Metal in my collection:

Death
  • Amon Amarth - Melodic Death Metal
  • Blood Stain Child - Melodic Death Metal
  • Dark Tranquillity - Melodic Death Metal
  • Death - Death Metal
  • In Flames - Gothenberg / Melodic Death Metal
  • Norther - Gothenberg / Melodic Death Metal
  • Universum - Melodic Death Metal

I don't really listen to Thrash Metal, but do like a couple of songs from Mortal Sin. Really, I'm more into Viking/Folk Metal.

I think Viking is ok, I've seen Amon Amarth at Sounds of the Underground and I though they were really good. But I'm more into bands like Malevolent Creation, Suffocation, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, and Deicide.[/b] Hell yeah. Definitely amazing bands.

Thyrfing; Turisas and Månegarm got me into Viking, and Equilibrium and Windir got me into Folk. Try them out; especially Thyrfing's 'Vansinnesvisor' album.

Pretty sure 80s Metallica counts as Thrash Metal, so yeah.

silly danny, you forgot as i lay dying:

watch as they all simultaneously headbang, covered in sweat and other miscellanious bodily fluids. that is the true sign of a soft metal band .
that and how tim sounds like he just gargled glass.
